From our old friends at Luna Negra, these impeccable live concert recordings of the great Chilean band founded in 1984 and steeped in the prog, RIO, Magma, Pascoal, Zappa, Weather Report spirit. World-class players. The concert was in 2010, with 4 out 6 of the original band still present, shortly before the remarkable singer/clarinettist Arlette Jequier left. Complex, tuneful, virtuosic, imaginative, with turn-on-a-dime arrangements and exquisite execution, it’s also amazingly well mixed and recorded. And, of course there’s all the live energy that this kind of music lives through. Great compositions and energetic, clean, extrapolations - old musical values that are harder and harder to find today. And if they’re what you like, this impressive record is highly recommended.
