BLOUIN, HUGO: Charbonneau ou les valeurs a bonne place - volume 2
A fascinating record by the Quebecois composer and contrabassist Hugo Blouin based on musical transcriptions of testimonies from the Charbonneau Commission, which investigated organized crime in the construction industry and the awarding of public contracts. It bears some family resemblances to Rene Lussier’s work of orchestrating documentary speech, especially the impressive first track, on which Rene also appears as a guest. The rest has a jazzier signature, angular, complex, polyphonic, with multiple voices.
We have had just a few copies specially made for us with all the texts translated and printed in English - and signed by the composer.
