A set of studio recordings and a concert recording from 2019 by two great improvisers that cycle through most of the things a piano can do, inside and out. Highly attuned to sound but not to the complete exclusion of melodic and harmonic  material, it’s a conversation between masters, I think to their mutual enjoyment. Some surprising passages, of course, and it’s always good to feel people think. The live concert is especially persuasive.
