WILLIAMS, Davey: Solo gig.
144pp paperback of short, nicely crafted riffs on music, performance, improvisation and being in the world, written by one of the world’s great players. The tone is light, the humour dry and mildly surreal but the thinking is real; there are observations you could cut yourself on that shed more light in a few sentences than a lot of academic texts I’ve come across. Written for dipping into; mini-gigs, that follow an apparently improvisational form, but always have a point.
