JOYCE, JAMES: The Complete Recordings CD+120pp Book
Code:
SR60
Price:
£15.50
Quantity in Basket:

First publication of two readings, one from Ulysses recorded in 1924, the other from the extraordinary Ann Livia Plurabelle section of Finnegans Wake, recorded in 1929. The quality of the first is pretty appalling, but the second is good, and wonderfully read, showing that The Wake was written to sound. It really is extraordinary, short though it is and brutally truncated. Highly specialised but a crucial document for some. With a fat 110pp booklet by Eugene Jolas, being a memoire of his friendship with Joyce and the tribulations of publishing.
