Recorded in Finland, in 2016 - the last recording in fact by AMM in duo form (Eddie Prevost and John Tilbury); a great recording, made in a highly responsive acoustic space with Eddie producing often unusual - even unlikely, sounds - and John being unobtrusive, but essential, like weather. Thanks to the acoustics, the silent audience of about 100 and the time of day, it seems less like a performance and more as though a series of dreamlike events simply occur, sometimes overlapping... but never doubting themselves or claiming to be more than they are. It's only a high art that can make such an aesthetic work; and it does work: the discipline of three-quarters of a century finding a space free of cliche, habit, dogma, ego or attachment in which to allow 'music' just to happen. It's a precious skill and there's not a lot of it about. But here it is: time sacralised and miraculously preserved. Exceptional liner notes.
