Geber says in his reflective sleeve-notes ' the piece is about gutting myself emotionally'. It explores quiet, demanding playing (of long tones), very close-mic'd - to pick up every falter and detail, and can be listen to as background or foreground to very different effect. Not for everyone; this is a demanding and somewhat excruciating composition (and performance); but it has integrity.
