CHENEVIER, GIGOU: Etron Fou Leloublan (book, signed edition)
348 pp paperback. 50pp photographs.
Drumming maestro Gigou Chenevier tells the story of the band in a series of very readable anecdotes and recollections that paints a useful and entertaining picture of the active groups, the mood and some of the characters in play during an anomalous period when things were on the up in music. Itís conversationally written, wry and honest: Gigou has no axe to grind, heís just telling us how life was for a fringe band in France, part of the Rock in Opposition network and trying to live by music - when that was still possible with the support of alternative networks, enthusiasm and, in some cases, art-friendly governments. A human voice chatting about different times and, for those interested in the period, touching on many characters of interest in their natural habitats. For specialists itís a mine of small insights that put flesh on the bones of a fringe but productive musical minority. In both English and French with many pages of photographs (a few with scrambled captions, but itís easy to work it out). Not cheap I know butÖ.

While it lasts, this special ReR Edition comes with an original EFL photograph or, some other contemporary printed memorabila, dug up for us by Gigou. and signed by him for you.
