Another classic from the same period forged in the same cultural cauldron. This also features Joan Albert Amargos, working with the great contemporary flamenco guitarist Feliu Gasul. It’s a bravura performance of unostentatious but breathtaking virtuosity - and hard to believe that people of my age and generation were doing things like this in the mid 1970s. It was a moment that passed. Featuring four compositions by Feliu and one by Joan Albert, mature beyond their years and sparkling with life and lyricism. Although there is the occasional addition of bass, percussion (the great Salvador Font again), flutes and some electric guitar, this is still essentially a celebration of acoustic guitar and piano - equalised in power through recording technology. I listened repeatedly to this and the Musica Urbana LP when they were first released, and they were very early entries in the Recommended catalogue, so it’s great to have them back in print.
