LIGHT COORPORATION: Rare Dialect
Contemporary Polish band (guitar, fretless bass, drums, violin, baritone and alto sax, with guest keyboard and electronics) play in what might still be called a late RIO style – very clean, powerful, economically organised instrumental music, distinguished by excellent playing, variety and a spare economy of means. Well recorded it hovers between the sensibilities of the present and the aesthetics of the late ‘70s (Picchio, Maccina M, Magma, Hatfield even WestCult era Cow) though unlike all of these – a harder edge, less forgiving, more precise. Nice packaging; of a kind release.
